Is it just me or following the Hollywood Bowl, rookie group BEAST have become even more popular than before? At this point, they're probably the rookie group with the most rapidly expanding fanbase, other than 2NE1. And by all accounts they've earned the adoration; reports from fans at the Korean Music Festival are positive, saying the boys were accessible, friendly, polite and yes, hot. Who doesn't want to be a B2ty these days?
So, in light of the group's rising success I figured I should attempt to get to know them better - curse my Googling skills, I may have found out too much.
BEAST fans recently translated the Star Interview, an in depth interview featuring the group as a whole and individual members in their own segments. As the first part of their group interview, the members played a game that had them answering the typical idol questions - you know, the funny, silly invasive ones. What's interesting is the boy's response to a not-so -typical answer.
The revelation about Kikwang's porn affinity wasn't surprising, at least not to me. It's a topic broached in idol interviews before. What was intriguing was the group's ensuing openness with the topic. They were very relaxed in discussing the fact that they watch porn (though Doojoon was ardent to move the conversation along when someone mentioned "group porn viewings" ha). Again, young men watching porn, not a revelation in and of itself. But BEAST's glibness in light of the subject, while encroaching on TMI, in a way, made me like them more than before. Is that dirty?
